Friends and family said goodbye to a young Marine from Rockland County at a funeral held Saturday morning in Montvale, New Jersey. Steve Vahaviolos, 21, drowned along with three other Marines last week in Iraq when the tank he was riding in flipped over and rolled into a canal. His mother read the eulogy for her only son. Friends say they remember a man of integrity and character. Family members say they are confident they will see him again one day. Vahaviolos was laid to rest with full military honors at the Frederick Loescher Cemetery in New Hempstead.
