A group of Mount Vernon residents came together Sunday to help a baby girl who's had constant anguish in her life since being born in March.

Family and friends of baby Sofia say she was born with a rare medical disorder and her mother, Janine O'Hara, died 10 days after giving birth.

On Sunday, family and friends got together for a fundraiser in Mount Vernon to raise money for Sofia and celebrate O'Hara's life. The family says the turnout was overwhelming and a fitting way to pay homage to the young mother and help her young baby.
