It’s been one year since the death of rap icon DMX, a Yonkers native.
Fans gathered Saturday to pay their respects and to celebrate his life and music.
Many gathered outside of Ruff Ryders studios to share stories and talk about the famed musician.
“He meant everything to Yonkers, because he was someone who came from nothing, made himself into something, and he always brought back to the community," said Jetta Bee, a friend of DMX.
The Ruff Ryders said they are throwing a party in downtown Yonkers in his honor.
