Free beer, food among perks offered at coat drive in Newburgh

40ds agoAnyone looking to give back this holiday season can also get some freebies at a coat drive in Newburgh.
Billy Joe's Rib Works and the Newburgh Brewing Company are collecting new or gently used coats through Dec. 12. Anyone who donates gets a free pint of beer at either location, free fried pickles at Billy Joe's or a waived cover charge at the nightclub on weekends.
"It's a great cause. How could you resist helping people in need like this? The Armory does wonderful things, so we just wanted to help out and do our best to take care of people as we could," says Jonathan Gatsik.
All the coats collected will be distributed Dec. 16 at the Newburgh Armory from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
So far, 165 coats have been collected. The goal is to collect 1,000 coats.
