A former Sullivan County woman says nearly seven years after the death of her friend, April Parker, the alleged killer remains free.
Brianna Bukovinsky reported Parker missing in May 2014. The 31-year-old mother of four was found dismembered in a wooden area of Monticello in June 2014.
Bukovinsky believes more should be done to convict Parker’s killer. “This type of crime should bother you. Even if you didn’t know her, it should hurt you and knowing her makes it that much worse.”
Authorities say they are continuing to follow up on leads, although no arrests have been made. Police also have yet to release the name of a suspect or person of interest.
News 12 is told three of Parker's children have reached adulthood and the youngest child resides with his father in Pennsylvania.
Anyone with information about April Parker’s death is asked to contact state police at 845-344-5300.
