A veteran Westchester educator has been appointed as
state monitor for the East Ramapo School District.
Mary Fox-Alter was appointed by the
state's education commissioner.
She served in the Pleasantville School District for 31 years, the last 12 as
superintendent before retiring at the end of
last year.
As monitor, she will work with the
state's fiscal monitor for the district, to help ensure that students have
equitable access to high-quality instruction, programs and services.
Fox-Alter starts her new job on April 7.
