Former Nassau County Executive Mangano denied new trial in corruption case

Former Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano was denied a new trial for his corruption conviction and is set to be sentenced in March.
Mangano was charged with fraud and bribery. His wife, Linda Mangano, was denied a second trial as well after being found guilty of lying to the FBI and obstruction of justice.
The couple faces up to 20 years behind bars.
The Manganos' attorney told News 12, "We are surprised and disappointed as we believe that, both on the law and the facts, dismissal of these remaining counts was required. But we are unbowed and will continue to fight."
