Former building superintendent gets 15 years for trying to set apartment building on fire

A Poughkeepsie man will spend 15 years in prison for attempting to set fire to an apartment building he managed, according to the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office.
Lorgio Hernandez-Quevedo was convicted of attempted arson.
Prosecutors say Hernandez-Quevedo poured gasoline down the stairs of an apartment building on Rose Street last year.
Authorities say he then attempted to ignite the gasoline with a lighter and spread gasoline around the outside of the building.
Prosecutors say the fire was prevented when two tenants called 911 before any flames could take hold.
At the time of the incident, Hernandez-Quevedo was serving as the building's superintendent.
The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office says he was sentenced to 15 years in state prison.
