A former Ardsley resident is among those still missing following the collapse of a Florida condo building early Thursday morning.
There are at least 159 people still unaccounted for as crews have been working since the collapse happened more than 24 hours ago.
Judy Spiegel, 66, is among those missing, who at one time lived in Ardsley.
Her daughter, Rachel Spiegel, says she is praying her mom is still alive beneath the rubble of what was once a 12-story housing complex in Surfside, Florida.
"I have to be hopeful, I want to be with her. I love her,” she says.
News 12's Lisa LaRocca's Facebook Live on the former Ardsley resident who remains missing after the building collapse in Florida.
Rachel says hours before the building came crumbling down, her mother was speaking on the phone with her about a princess dress she bought for Rachel's 4-year-old daughter.
"That was the last text I have from her…that she bought the dress and she was so excited, and the dress is in the mail, and I just want my mom to give it to her," Rachel says.
In Ardsley, where the Spiegels once lived, Judy's lifelong friends are doing everything they can to support the family from afar.
"She just keeps asking for prayers…we do believe that miracles happen,” says family friend Lindsay Astor.
Other people from the tri-state area are still unaccounted for, including former Brooklyn resident Ruslan Manashirov and his wife Nicole Doran.
Benny and Malki Weiss, both in their 20s, from Lakewood, New Jersey went to visit Malki's father on Tuesday— all three haven't been heard from since.
Rescue efforts continue to be an all-hands-on mission with first responders sifting through the debris by hand in hopes of finding any signs of life.
