The Town of East Fishkill remains under a state of emergency due to the aftermath of Sunday's storm.
Town Supervisor Nicolas D'Alessandro declared the emergency following the impassable road conditions in the area.
Authorities strongly advised residents to consider evacuation on Monday due to the potential threat of the temporary Carol Drive Bridge being washed out by the surging Fishkill Creek.
The temporary bridge is currently in use as workers construct a new bridge. However, the flooding has hampered their progress as they are unable to cross the bridge for concrete work.
Several other roads, including Townsend Road, Phillips Road, and Miller Hill/Wonderland, have been closed due to damage, potential flooding, and debris.
D'Alessandro assures that the town is closely monitoring all problematic areas.
