Dutchess County legislators have unanimously approved a plan to cover any remaining Flock cameras that are not removed by the contractual deadline of Oct. 25.

Under the resolution, cameras that remain in place after the deadline will be covered and will stay covered until they are removed.

Flock cameras automatically capture and record license plate information from passing vehicles.

The technology has drawn criticism from some residents and drivers who have raised concerns about privacy and the collection of vehicle data.

County officials say the action is intended to ensure compliance with the agreed-upon removal schedule.
