A Fishkill woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly striking a person with her car and leaving the scene of the crash.

Aida Miranda, 62, allegedly struck 72-year-old Balvinder Parihar in Fishkill on Saturday at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Merritt Boulevard.

Authorities say an off-duty emergency medical technician was nearby and helped a responding trooper perform CPR, but that Parihar's injuries were too severe, and the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Miranda is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash. She was remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail.
