High school students in Nanuet will officially return to school Thursday to
start their school year.
The district says Nanuet High School was closed for students
in grades 9-12 (in person and virtual) because of an issue with the high
school’s main sewer discharge line that surfaced on Tuesday.
There was no access to the high school property for
activities before or after school. Student athletes were instructed to
check with their coaches about adjustments to their schedules.
Officials say the sewage issue at the high school did not impact
any other district buildings, so the elementary and middle school students
still started classes today.
