Firefighters rushed to rescue a horse stuck in the mud Saturday in Putnam County.

Pictures from the Carmel Fire Department show multiple people attempting to help the animal.

Officials say it took nearly three hours to get the horse out of the sticky situation.

The current condition of the horse is unknown.
