BITTER BLAST

Arctic air takes hold of the Hudson Valley after first snowstorm.

Several firefighters are recovering this morning after being injured battling a fast-moving blaze in Mount Vernon.
Officials say the fire gutted a vacant house on Union Avenue yesterday and badly damaged the vacant home next door.
Fire marshals say the fire might have been caused by a generator that exploded while crews were repairing one of the homes.
All of the firefighters are expected to recover.
