A volunteer firefighter rescued a sleeping man and his cat from a house fire in Yorktown Wednesday.
The firefighter is a town employee who happened to be passing the house on Douglas Drive when he saw smoke. The only person in the house at the time was 36-year old Glen Fine, who has Multiple Sclerosis. Fine?s mother thinks he probably fell asleep in a chair while smoking.
Fine and his cat suffered minor smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
