A White Plains firefighter is a free man just days after allegedly causing an accident that killed a woman.
Erik Refvik was released from Westchester County Jail last night after posting $25,000 bail.
The 34-year-old was off duty Monday when he was allegedly involved in a wrong-way crash on South Lexington Avenue that took the life of Reydan LaMadrid and seriously injured her husband, Edgar Lopez.
Police say Refvik's blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit. He was charged with criminally negligent homicide.
Refvik pleaded guilty to DWI following a Manhattan arrest in 2003. He allegedly avoided jail time by agreeing to participate in an alcohol treatment program.
