Fire sparks at home in Yonkers
After dozens responded to a house fire in Yonkers Sunday afternoon, firefighters have narrowed down its possible cause.
The blaze sparked in the basement of a home around 3 p.m. Sunday on Neppheran Avenue.
Fire officials say the cause was either overheated wires or an electrical short.
The Red Cross is aiding the six adults and five children that live in the two-family home.
Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries from battling the flames.
