Officials say a man was injured after an explosion in an Irvington restaurant.

They say one employee of MP Taverna was taken to the hospital after he was struck with fire and sustained injuries to his face, arm and chest.

Fire officials are now investigating whether or not an employee left the grill on too long and caused the blast.

The fire was out before fire crews arrived at the scene but the restaurant was still evacuated.

There is no word on the victim's condition. No one else was injured in the fire.
