A fast-moving fire forced the evacuation of a White Plains apartment building this morning.
Fire officials say the flames broke out at the building on the corner of Bryant Avenue and Overlook Drive around 8:30 a.m.
Residents tell News 12 the fire spread quickly from the first floor to the fourth.
One woman says the fire broke out next door to her apartment. She was alerted by firefighters knocking on her door telling her and her husband to evacuate. "It's sad that I know some of my neighbors are right now having to find somewhere to go and they probably got all the decorations up and everything else," says resident Tanya Alford.
Residents say firefighters quickly put the blaze out but it appears the top floor apartment did have roof damage.
There is no word yet on any injuries.
