A massive fire destroyed a house on Prospect Street in Newburgh Tuesday morning. The family inside says their smoke alarms woke them up just before 7 a.m. and they managed to escape without injury.

A massive fire destroyed a house on Prospect Street in Newburgh Tuesday morning.
The family inside says their smoke alarms woke them up just before 7 a.m. and they managed to escape without injury. Resident Alicia Clark says the fire moved quickly and they lost everything.
Firefighters say the fire, which appears to be electrical, began in the kitchen.
Family members say they are grateful no one was hurt in the fire. Their insurance company is providing them with a place to stay.
