A fire destroyed a disabled man's house Wednesday night in Salisbury Mills, and the charred remains were torn down Thursday.
The fire sparked at around 8 p.m. Wednesday at the house, located on Oakwood Trail, while homeowner Larry Wahlman was outside of his home.
His neighbor, Mark Gabor, saw the flames and ran outside to help, where he found Wahlman trying to extinguish the fire with buckets of water from a nearby stream.
Dozens of firefighters battled the blaze, but had to return Thursday to water down hot spots. The house was then demolished.
Wahlman is currently being helped by the Red Cross.
