A Rye Brook home was badly damaged Friday morning by a fast-moving fire fueled by ammunition.
Fire officials say the home had already been condemned, and the owner was inside sleeping when the fire at 3 Edgewood Drive started.
A neighbor who lives across the street says the young woman who inherited the home from her grandparents knocked on their door at around 5:45 a.m.
When fire officials arrived, they say there was heavy fire out the second-floor window, and they heard ammunition going off.
They say the homeowner confirmed there was ammunition inside. Officials say no one was injured.
A neighbor told News 12 that the fire was started by a candle, but that has not been confirmed by authorities.
