As she struggles to keep her composure, Caryn Palese, of Tarrrytown, spoke through her tears.

"He was my bird...My son bought him for me and he was just like one of us," she said.

The Palese family's ring-necked parakeet went missing on June 29 after escaping through a door that accidentally became stuck open, even though the family thought the door was closed.

"He was with me every day – on me, talking to me, eating my food, opening the bathroom door. He could open doors too with his beak."

Blue is very popular and appears in various adventures on his own TikTok channel. He can be seen repeating phrases like, "I love you", "Peekaboo" and "Give me a kiss."

"He belongs in the house. He's not well equipped to be out there," said Frank Palese.

The Palese family is offering a $1,000 reward for Blue's safe return. Anyone that sees him is urged to call 914-406-9256.
