Fifteen people were displaced Wednesday after a fire ripped through a three-story building in Haverstraw.
Multiple crews rushed to the scene at 12 South St. just before 5 p.m. Firefighters say everyone was able to make it out of the apartment building unharmed.
Fire officials say the fire started on a second-floor mattress. They are looking into whether a candle may have sparked the fire.
Investigators are also looking at whether there are too many people living in the building.
Residents say they are just happy no one was hurt.
