News 12 crews captured video of multiple charred e-bikes after a fire broke out inside of a six-story building in Claremont on Thursday.
According to the FDNY, the fire broke out between 173rd Street and Morris Avenue at around 1 p.m.
Hazmat crews were spotted on the scene to handle the multiple e-bikes that were found in the fire.
Sources say that the e-bikes were on fire in a first-floor apartment. Residents tell News 12 that they saw dozens of those e-bikes in the back of the building earlier today.
The Red Cross says their Greater New York Disaster Action Team responded to the fire and left information for tenants who were not available. They say many residents were able to reoccupy their homes and did not require emergency assistance.
The FDNY says that no one was injured in this fire and the investigation is ongoing.
The Red Cross says any residents who were impacted by the fire should call 877-RED CROSS (877-733-2767).
