The FBI is searching for a member of a notorious gang in Mount Vernon.
Authorities say 27-year-old Shawn Evans is a member of the violent street gang, "Boss Playa Family." The criminal enterprise was in operation around the Mount Vernon area from 2007 to 2014.
Evans is wanted on racketeering and gun charges. The FBI says he was last seen on Sidney Avenue in Mount Vernon, and he may still be in the area.
Authorities say Evans has a distinctive tattoo under his chin and on his neck of the number "617," which they say has personal meaning to him.
Police say seven other members and associates of the gang are facing federal charges, which include the murders of two rival gang members. One of those killed was Shomari Knox, who was fatally shot in August 2008.
