Thousands of people attended a concert at Orchard Beach to honor hip-hop legend and Bronx native Fat Joe.
The event was hosted by Rise Up NYC. The star-studded lineup included Funk Flex, Doug E. Fresh, Chubb Rock, Wayne Wonder and duo Bobby Konders and Jabba. Fat Joe took center stage and performed many of hit iconic hits.
Rise Up NYC says this event was more than a concert. It was a celebration of the unity, diversity and resilience of New York and its people.
Local elected officials were in attendance, including Mayor Eric Adams, who presented Fat Joe with the key to the city.
"His music has unlocked our hearts for so many years... Fat Joe is a real legend, and we're just really thrilled about giving him the key to they city" the mayor told News 12.
