Westchester Medical Center will build a new critical care patient tower thanks to a $5 million donation from Brenda and John Fareri , hospital officials announced.

The five-story, 162,000-square-foot Brenda Fareri Pavilion will feature 128 private patient rooms.

The couple previously played a key role in establishing the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, named after their daughter who died 30 years ago at age 13. Since opening, it has treated thousands of critically ill and injured children.

The new tower honors Brenda, a former critical care nurse, for her legacy of care.

“If you look up selfless in the dictionary, you should see a picture of John and Brenda,” a hospital spokesperson said.

John Fareri added, “With this new tower, we continue that progress, ensuring that every best critical care for our patients of all ages. And without Brenda we would've never, never accomplished our dreams.”

Construction is expected to finish in 2026, after which the hospital will begin converting all inpatient rooms to private ones.
