A Yonkers family is searching for answers about the disappearance of their uncle 26 years ago.
Salvador Ramirez, 28, had moved to Yonkers from Colombia in 1981. He had a 2-year-old daughter and a tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife, authorities say.

Ramirez was last seen going to pick up his daughter on Sept. 19, 1993.

Diana Rojas, Ramirez's niece, says his disappearance has been haunting her family. Police say his car was discovered at John F. Kennedy Airport one week after he was reported missing.

Authorities say his estranged wife gained full custody of their daughter, changed her first and last name and moved to California. They say they spoke to her and other persons of interest over the years.

Police say they suspect foul play and are using DNA technology to try and track down Ramirez.
