Nearly 50 firefighters from 10 departments spent hours battling a house fire at 2 Avalon Drive in Goshen.
Police say a family of four was inside when the blaze broke out just after noon Sunday. They made it out unharmed.
With no fire hydrant nearby, rescuers had to transport water from nearly a mile away.
Flames destroyed everything but the garage, leaving the family homeless.
Neighbors say the victims are staying with friends.
