The tragic accident that killed eight people Sunday on the Taconic State Parkway, spreading grief from Westchester County to Long Island, has devastated a Yonkers family.
Authorities say 81-year-old Michael Bastardi, his 49-year-old son Guy Bastardi and family friend Dan Luongo were killed when a minivan heading in the wrong direction on the parkway slammed head-on into their SUV.
Family members say the three men were on their way to a dinner in Yorktown when the accident happened.
The Bastardi family has lived in their Yonkers home for 30 years, shocked neighbors say.
