Families all
across New York will rally against a package ban in several state prisons.
The Department of
Corrections and Community Supervision changed their package policy earlier this
year. It prohibits people from sending food packages to incarcerated family
members.
Incarcerated people can only get two non-food or
personal packages a year.
All food packages
must now go through approved vendors if they're willing to deliver.
Families will
gather outside Sing Sing Prison Tuesday morning to speak out on the
emotional and financial toll they say the ban has on the health of incarcerated
people.
