Families who lost loved ones in nursing homes due to COVID-19 are demanding accountability from Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Local lawmakers are pushing for an independent investigation into Gov. Cuomo's managing of the coronavirus in New York's nursing and care homes.
They say Cuomo should be held accountable following a March 25 directive requiring those facilities to allow positive patients back inside.
Families tell News 12 this is simply about their loved ones, all politics aside. “What kind of society would we be if we allowed this to continue? What kind of society would we be, if we don't act now to protect the greatest generation who built this country?" says rally organizer Tracey Alvino.
News 12 has reached out to the governor's office for comment, but has not heard back.
