Special honors were given to two fallen Yonkers police officers Thursday in White Plains.
Lt. Roy McLaughlin and Officer Anthony Maggiore died from 9/11-related illnesses. They were among more than two dozen officers recognized for their bravery.
"Someone who makes the ultimate sacrifice needs to be recognized," says Westchester Public Safety Commissioner George Longworth. "Recognition is a positive motivator and when police officers do a great job they need to be acknowledged."
McLaughlin and Maggiore's names were added to the county's "Roll Call of Honor," which honors Westchester's fallen heroes.
