Wednesday's storm took down some trees in our area, including one that fell on a family-owned business in in Haverstraw.
The family that owns Dominga Fashion said the tree fell on the roof of their business around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, as the storm rolled through.
It left an opening in the ceiling and caused water from the storm to flood the store.
Jay Mendez, the son of the owner, said the incident damaged a bunch of merchandise that they sell.
He shared with News 12 how his family plans to move forward.
"It's gonna be tough, insurance claims, repairs, just kinda getting the store back up for the community," Mendez said.
Mendez added that they expect the store to be closed at least for a couple of days as they continue to clean the store up.
