(11/12/07) YONKERS ? They dealt with flooding in the spring, and now in the fall, residents at a Yonkers senior complex must deal with broken heat.
Tenants at Trinity Apartments say boiler problems have left sections of the complex quite cold amid the November chill. They say management has offered them space heaters, but the evenings can still get very uncomfortable.
Many of the residents spent weeks in a motel after a rainstorm in the spring flooded the basement. Although the boiler has been replaced and there is hot water, plumber Pat Pellegrino says there are still problems.
?Several apartments have broken zone valves that are not opening up,? says Pellegrino. ?Thereby stopping the flow of the heat throughout the building.?
According to Trinity Apartments representatives, the heat problem is being worked on and tenants won?t have to leave their homes.
