FAA: Engine trouble forced Westchester-based helicopter to land on Stamford High football field

Officials say the pilot of the Eurocopter AS350 reported engine issues around 6:50 p.m. before landing on the field.

Engine trouble forced a helicopter to make an emergency landing Tuesday evening on the football field at Stamford High School, according to the FAA

Officials say the pilot of the Eurocopter AS350 reported engine issues around 6:50 p.m. before landing on the field. Two people were on board at the time.

The number on the helicopter is registered to Wings Air Helicopters, a charter company based in West Harrison, New York. News 12 has reached out to Wings Air but have not heard back.

The helicopter remained on the field Wednesday morning. The FAA is investigating.
