New Canaan weekend Metro-North trains to be replaced by buses until June

Changes are due to DOT upgrades at the Stamford railroad maintenance facility.

Buses will replace the Metro-North New Canaan train line on weekends starting this Friday.

Metro-North and the Town of New Canaan say on Fridays the last train from New Canaan, along with the last three trains from Stamford to New Canaan, will be replaced by buses.

Substitute buses are set to connect with New Haven Line trains at Stamford station. Departures will be up to 30 minutes earlier than normal train times. 

Changes are due to DOT upgrades at the Stamford railroad maintenance facility.

Buses will replace trains on the following upcoming weekends:

  • April 10

  • April 17

  • April 24

  • May 1

  • May 8

  • May 15

  • May 29

  • June 5

On Memorial Day weekend, trains will run on a Sunday schedule.
