Jewish leaders across the Hudson Valley are being extra vigilant for the High Holy Days with the help of local police.
Rosh Hashanah began Wednesday at sunset and will end at sundown on Friday.
Local police say they are closely monitoring the safety around houses of worship, and intentionally making themselves extra-visible outside synagogues during this time of celebration for the Jewish community.
Most synagogues in the area also have their own surveillance cameras and local Jewish leaders say they have extra security measures in place.
Police officials say they have not received any credible threats, or reasons to be concerned about Jewish New Year celebrations around Hudson Valley, and are just taking extra precautions.
