The United States and European allies continue to tighten the economic vise on Russia, with crushing sanctions coming from across the globe.
The Biden administration is now prohibiting Americans from doing any business with Russia’s central bank, while also freezing its assets within the U.S.
The central bank, in turn, hiked interest rates to 20%, as the value of the ruble was worth less than 1 U.S. penny.
The historic sanctions are giving further rise to fears that Russia could retaliate with cyberattacks.
A new Quinnipiac poll found that more than 60% of Americans are worried that Russian President Vladimir Putin could deploy nuclear weapons. But many experts feel that the greater threat is for cyberwar.
