Even though it's not Thanksgiving or Black Friday yet, many retailers have started their holiday shopping push. Some items needed for the holidays should be snagged as soon as possible, but others may be worth a wait.
Personal finance expert Vera Gibbons says those that are on the market for popular toys should get those toys as soon as possible, since they might sell out.
If it's a gadget on the list, Gibbons suggests waiting until Black Friday. Kiplinger's Personal Finance suggests waiting until Black Friday for items like HDTVs, tablets, laptops, and video game consoles.
Gibbons says Cyber Monday is really the day to snag apparel. Gibbons says shoppers tend to see 45 percent more clothing deals on Cyber Monday. She says it is generally the day where retailers offer storewide discounts.
Consumers who will do most of their shopping online may want to get an even earlier start. A survey by Adobe predeicts that overall online prices will be at their lowest on Thanksgiving Day.
