A former Mount Pleasant police chief has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
Brian Fanelli pleaded guilty to the charges Monday afternoon in White Plains federal court.
The former chief was arrested last year and resigned from his position a few months later.
The 56-year-old father of two grown children admitted to downloading more than 100 files, images and videos of child pornography at his Mahopac home last January.
As part of his plea deal with the government, Fanelli is facing 41-51 months in prison. However, Judge Karas says he doesn't have to abide by that agreement on sentencing day in November.
