A former firefighter has filed a discrimination complaint against Harrison alleging that she was sexually harassed by a member of the department -- and then forced to resign when she reported it.
Attorney Rose Weber says her client, Angela Bommarito, was a volunteer firefighter in the summer of 2015, when she accuses former colleague Henry Mohr of manipulating her into a sexual relationship.
When that relationship ended, Weber says Mohr stalked and harassed her client. He later became the fire chief.
The complaint states Bommarito reported the harassment to the fire department and the chief of police. She claims they refused to help and intimidated her into resigning.
"While I was crying hysterically, Chief Marraccini went into the other room and got a resignation letter that he had already typed up," she says. "He came back in and demanded that I sign it in front of him. I signed it, but only under great duress and feeling like I had no other choice because of his threats."
"Certainly it's time to stop retaliating against the women who are brave enough to come forward," Weber says.
A Harrison police detective also came forward with claims of sexual harassment last week, and Weber says now is the time to speak out and seek justice.
