A former attorney of the Florida businessman who was killed at the Rye Town Hilton says his client was once the victim of a burglary that was allegedly linked to his wife.
According to attorney Donald Spadaro, Ben Novack Jr. filed for divorce following the 2002 home invasion, thinking his wife Nancy was behind it, but changed his mind after she allegedly returned the $100,000 that was stolen.
Nancy Novack was never charged with any crime, and Rye police say she is not a suspect in the murder of her husband, who was bludgeoned to death in his hotel room last Sunday.
