The Elmsford School District held a public forum Thursday to discuss the next superintendent for the district.
The forum was held at Alexander Hamilton High School.
Some attendees spoke about the lack of opportunities, especially for Hispanic and Black students. They also brought up the need for more communication between the school board and the community.
In November, former Superintendent Ronald Gonzalez resigned from his position to pursue other leadership opportunities.
Dr. James Ryan was appointed Interim Superintendent at the Elmsford Union Free District’s Dec. 6 Board of Education meeting and will remain in that post for the rest of the 2023-2024 school year.
