Supporters of Edgemont becoming the Town of Greenburgh's seventh village are seeking a vote for the third time.

The Edgemont Incorporation Committee says more than 1,500 signs represent about 27% of the villages qualified voters.

Officials say Town Supervisor Paul Feiner will decide if the petition meets the statutory requirements once there's a hearing.

If he determines it's invalid, supporters say they will challenge him in court.

Feiner has rejected two prior petition efforts.

Greenburgh officials say the town will lose millions of dollars in revenue if Edgemont becomes a village.

Supporters say by becoming a village they can elect their own mayor and board of trustees, focusing more on the people of Edgemont.
