? Voter turnout Tuesday for a $13.6 million bond for Tuckahoe schools might be undermined by a fire at a popular polling place ? a firehouse station.

The electrical fire broke out Sunday at an Eastchester station on Oregon Avenue near New Rochelle Road. Investigators say the blaze destroyed the basement and caused $75,000 in damage. Crews continue to man the station in case a fire breaks out.

That disaster means voters who normally use the Chester Heights polling place are voting at the Cottle School. Polling Inspector Karen Williamson believes the location change will affect senior citizens who do not have transportation.

The Chester Heights fire chief says he is not sure when the firehouse will return to normal.
