Thousands of Long Islanders are expected to head to the polls for early voting.

Polls opened at 9 a.m. Saturday in Nassau and 10 a.m. in Suffolk. Nassau County has 27 early polling locations and Suffolk has 28.

Early voting lasts through Sunday, Nov. 2.

Among the highest profile contests in this election is the Nassau County executive race between incumbent Republican Bruce Blakeman and Democratic challenger Legislator Seth Koslow. They put forth their visions for the county this week in a News 12 debate.

Voters News 12 spoke with say early voting makes the process more convenient.

“No long lines, everything’s fine. 1, 2, 3," said Hank Kiesehuer, of Bethpage.

“I think just in general though it’s just important for everyone to get out and vote," said Jennifer Castle, of Bethpage.
