Showers and storms, once again, will threaten our region overnight and into Wednesday morning before some nice weather briefly comes by.

The wet weather will taper off after the morning commute.

Drier skies, finally, will move in for Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. That is because the upper-level low pressure system will be pulling away from the northeast.

Thursday afternoon could see a passing shower or two as one gasp from that system is felt across the region.

Sadly though, another system moves in across the area on Friday. Expect the rain to return and last through the day. That is the bad news.

The good news is that the shower threat will fade sooner than later, with rain wrapping up early Saturday morning.

The rest of the weekend, including Mother's Day, will be drier and nicer.

OVERNIGHT: Scattered showers, with patchy fog at times & mist. Lows: Low to mid-50s.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a shower chance in the morning hours. Highs: Upper 60s to low 70s. Lows: Low to mid-50s

THURSDAY: Mix of sun and clouds, with a chance for showers in the afternoon hours. Highs: Upper 60s to low 70s. Lows: Low 50s.

FRIDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - Mainly cloudy, with rain on-and-off through the day and a breezy wind at times. Highs: Upper 50s to low 60s. Lows: Upper 40s.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a spotty shower chance very early in the day. Highs: Mid- to upper 60s. Lows: Upper 40s to low 50s.

SUNDAY: MOTHER’S DAY - Mostly sunny. Highs: Mid-70s. Lows: Low 50s.

MONDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs: Mid-70s. Lows: Low to mid-50s.
